Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the United States and Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation occasionally. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta was bilingual from the time she turned nine. This ability that allowed her to get her first role as an Univision production assistant in Miami. There, she worked with the producers of National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was reporter for sports at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated away from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reporters covered issues related to illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking in both Texas and Mexico. Her duties as an anchor for sports or weather were regularly demanded. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She also did segments on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Apart from that, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted as a sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same job was held for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on UniMas Network. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an older sister. In 1992 her family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. Then, shortly afterward the family split up, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In June of 2006, she spent a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta was just graduating from high school, but was already aware of her plans for what she would accomplish. The campus was a dream for her. They also offered her the major that she desired. She graduated from high school and began studying media at the University. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the director of WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her confidence and whose passion for journalism deeply touched her. She determined to meet his demands always delivering on time.
